Cuba in the heart. Sophistication in the hand.

Our Story

El Puro is a love letter we never finished writing.

It began with a dream shared by an immigrant family who came to the United States carrying little more than their traditions, their work ethic, and a deep love for Cuba.

At the center of that story was the patriarch of our family—the man whose presence brought people together, whose stories filled every room, and whose love for hospitality shaped generations.

In Cuban culture, el puro means cigar, but it can also be an affectionate way of referring to one’s father. For our family, that meaning is deeply personal.

After his unexpected passing, what remained were the memories: long conversations around the table, music playing in the background, meals shared with family and friends, and a way of life we never wanted to lose.

El Puro was created to keep that spirit alive.

Inspired by the timeless elegance of Havana, El Puro honors a generation that taught us that hospitality is more than service—it is generosity, connection, and making people feel at home.

Our cuisine is rooted in the recipes and traditions passed down through our family, while embracing a more contemporary vision of Cuban dining. Rather than looking only to the past, we explore what Cuban cuisine might have become had its culinary journey continued to evolve uninterrupted—honoring tradition while welcoming creativity, refinement, and innovation.

The result is a modern Cuban experience where family recipes meet new ideas, classic flavors find fresh expression, and every dish tells a story of where we come from and where we are going.

Family recipes, handcrafted cocktails, live music, and meaningful gatherings are all part of that legacy. Every plate we serve and every guest we welcome is another chapter in a story that continues to unfold.

Because El Puro was never meant to be just a restaurant.

It is a tribute to a father.
A celebration of Cuba.
And the realization of a dream born from loss, love, and remembrance.

Welcome to our home.

The letter is still being written.
